What is your actual intention behind eating better? Your intention changes your choices.
Is it just to lose weight?
Or because your family tells you to “take care” of your health?
Or do you actually want to feel better?
I haven’t been very intentional about my food and daily choices over the past few weeks.
But when I went to Bombay and walked into one of my favourite places Kitchen Garden by Suzette, I felt a spark again! Just looking at the ingredients and the menu gave me a burst of energy.
Of course, I ordered a bowl, a smoothie and a chia pudding. Sitting in the car, slowly eating my bowl and suddenly I feel something shift in my body. My mood shifted completely. I felt lighter, clearer, happier. Just genuinely positive inside.
I don’t even know why I was so surprised by this because it’s the reason why I even got into this space of eating better.
It reminded me how deeply food affects how we feel and how we show up. For ourselves and for the people around us!
I used to be far more intentional about my food when I lived in Amsterdam. Moments like this reconnect me to that intention, of why eating better is actually worth the effort.
We all fall into laziness sometimes, or choosing what feels good in the moment.
Instant gratification is real.
And while I do believe in listening to our body, I also believe that we sometimes need to gently retrain it. Back toward its natural energy and balance through real, good food.
Simply becoming aware, helps us take more aligned actions.
Pause, notice how your meals are making you feel. Can you make a tiny shift in any one of them?
